Being Baptised as a Christian and receiving the Holy Spirit can support Christians

In this post I thought it might be useful to look at how the Holy Spirit can help us in our daily lives as a Christian. The Holy Spirit is one of the 3 attributes of God the creator alongside Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

The Gift of the Holy Spirit is the best gift that I have ever received in this world from God. This is usually received at Baptism for a Christian through the laying of hands or water by a church minister.

We are going through difficult times in the world and who doesn't need a bit of comfort at times to get through. As a student my faith and the gift of the Holy Spirit the comforter got me through some very tough times in my life.

Jesus has said in the Bible he would send his followers after the resurrection a comforter, which is the Holy Spirit.(John 14:26) to help and support ithem in their work as Christians to help get them to the Kingdom of God. Jesus said to his children to be born of Spirit as Christians (John 3:5), Jesus stated that, "Truly, truly, I tell you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.”(Acts 16 31-34). "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:"Matthew 28:18-20 For further scripture messages see Romans 6:4 also.
Jesus himself was baptised by water by John the Baptist who was his cousin and God spoke and said this is my dear Son who I am well pleased at this event.(Matthew 3:13-17), it is good practice to follow his lead.

The Holy Spirit can perform different functions in the body to support a Christian in their faith journey.

These are the typical roles of the Holy Spirit-

The Holy Spirit has many roles, helper, healer, protector, motivation, confidence, intercessor, advocate, strengthener, standby, comforter, counsellor, baptiser and a sanctifier. The Holy Spirit can also help you learn to care for yourself spiritually and also holistically. God with my autism helps me manage it as well, so it is not just about the religion, but your holistic health as well as it is important to God.

We are born with our spirit which also contains the Spirit of God. Being Baptised with more of the Holy Spirit at Baptism (which Jesus laid the way for) allows one to grow in the Spirit and become more fully ourselves emulating the attributes of God. This is the presence of God with us here and now and as I said it is a third attribute of God.

The Holy Spirit is the breath, wind, spirit of God.
I have felt this breath and wind myself when in the church. It literally came by me and I remarked this is the breath and wind of the Holy Paraclete.

You can pray a simple Our Father as instructed by Jesus in Matthew 6 and the Holy Spirit will intercede on your part and translate your inner thoughts to the creator in Heaven so you can pray and know your inner thoughts are being heard if you struggle to express yourself.

The Gift of the Holy Spirit presence in my life and it has made me feel less alone in this world and strengthened itself my faith and caused me to hold on in difficult times.

As a Christian at the Day of Pentecost in the Book of Acts 2:1-4 the Holy Spirit descended on the disciples and they spoke in multiple languages. This is coming up soon in the calendar. Last year we wore red items to appreciate a symbol to the Holy Spirit at Church.

It remains that Love of God and our neighbour and worshipping God is of uppermost importance as a Christian. But eqiupping yourselves with the gifts as well can be helpful to many Christians. There are several gifts and God knows what is best for his children. You can find out more about the Spiritual gifts in the New Testament in (1 Corinthians :12) in the Holy Bible.

Hi everyone I thought I would end this as wel (John 14 16-20). In the Bible it talks about Jesus sending the comforter which is the Holy Spirit. I thought I would add this scripture as well.

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be] in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you"..

My nephew who is in his late teens said this about baptism.
"I ended up getting baptised which was an amazing feeling. I felt so refreshed, clean, everything wiped away. I just felt I've never felt a feeling like that ever before".

Holy Spirit and Natural Talent

I came across this story below which I really liked about a man who is helped by the Holy Spirit with his own natural talent. I have some friends who are so gifted with music which is a natural God given talent and when they play like the piano or sing spiritual music and I have felt the spirit is moving them. I have come to understand though that the indwelling Holy Spirit that Jesus promised believers can indeed be used and poured into and filled when someone is using their natural talents in their life and to support their faith.

.Anyway, I will paste the story . Good look discovering and using your natural talents and remember the Talent of the Lampstand in the New Testatment and the Parable of the Talents. I have pasted the story.

But having had no formal training, the Italian artist insists his talent and anointing comes from the Holy Spirit. A new renaissance is coming, he says Maxmillian When God thought about me, he thought about an artist. I believe my artistic gift is from him.When I was young I drew a lot but never thought of making it a career. At age 21, I was wild, really extreme. I drank and took drugs and had started doing things that were really wrong. I was always with different women.

A supernatural encounter
Like most Italian families, ours was Catholic in name only. Then, one day, a Christian friend shared the gospel with me. I immediately perceived that it was the truth. At the invitation of my friend, I started going to prayer meetings. Normally I’d be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, but strangely, whenever I went to a prayer meeting, the effect of the substances I had taken completely vanished. Instead, I always felt a sense of peace and lightness. It was supernatural. The sense of peace would accompany me the whole night so I thought: Maybe this really is God.After that, I started reading the Bible and going to church. I also immediately started to preach the gospel, even though I knew very little. My radical nature, which had previously been used for self-destruction, was now used for God’s purposes instead.Around the same time, I tried to go to art school, but always found closed doors. At first, I thought God might call me to be a pastor or an evangelist. But then the Holy Spirit started revealing that art was a spiritual calling for me. Over time, I understood that my art is a miracle. It doesn’t come from human teaching, but from the grace of God.

Restoration
God showed me that I needed to develop my skills to the very best they could be, and also have an understanding of the history of art. I began painting between eight and 15 hours every day. God showed me how this would initiate a new movement of the restoration of true art, not modern art. This would be a pioneering artistic movement, a new way to see and do art.The critics can’t understand my style because God put an anointing on my lifeGod’s calling on my life bore witness in my heart. Since God is creative, he gives us creative ideas which then become reality. God has imparted an anointing on me, giving me the ability to paint like the masters of the 19th century.

Now, when art critics and historians come to view my work, they ask me: “What time period are you from? Where did you study?’’ They were used to recognising where a painter had studied. The critics can’t understand my style because God put an anointing on my life. This is not the renaissance of the Medicis (the wealthy bankers and popes who helped fund the Renaissance). This rebirth is built by God. It’s incredible, and its prophecy is coming true.We moved to Montevarchi, near Florence, 17 years ago. I now teach at the largest art school in this part of the country. People have moved to Florence to study my techniques. God is causing this revival with young artists. I’ve met people with double degrees, really amazing careers, and they’ve left everything to come and dedicate themselves to art. Their lives have been completely turned upside down by God.Last summer, I opened my own studio and gallery. It brought a lot of curious people because it says: “ingresso libero/free entrance” on the door. People come in and they’re like: “Wow! This is what I’ve been looking for.” It was God’s strategy to do it this way. God’s presence is in this place.

The Holy Spirit has reached many people who’ve walked through the doors.Right now, I have a small studio. But I believe it’s God’s plan to give me a larger structure; an art academy with a gallery that the public can visit. We have spent four years fasting and praying, trying to find the right place in Florence. Everywhere was too expensive or just not right. We have finally found an apartment in the Basilica Di San Lorenzo, a renaissance church. Our apartment happens to be located over the tombs where the Medici family are buried. God has a great sense of humour! Before the end of time, God wants to restore all things. This restoration will be used to bring more people into the kingdom. With my gift, I can reach people in the artistic world. These are people that, for example, a singer will never reach. Hi all, as some of you here will be parents of the future with households of your own. I thought I would share with this with you.

I went to church today and on the weekly sermon sheet one of the sermons really struck accord with me. It was clear in that sermon that the prayer and faith of a member of a house can save another in that house. So if you are the head of a household and are Christian rest on that. I like that my dad, mum and sis and also others can cover me with his prayers as well. Get them to pray when you are in times of distress and know that is your responsibility to. It also mentions the need for baptism as well.

(Acts 16: 32-34)

Believe on the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, and your household. They spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in the house. At the same of the night he took them and washed their wounds; then he and his entire family were baptised without delay.
