The Student Room Group

i genuinely think my uni flatmate is stupid

okay maybe stupid is a stretch but she definitely lacks all type of common sense. but she's either stupid or think we are stupid.

so we live in a flat of 6 people, me and my other 4 flatmates get along super well but this other girl ...... we've tried from the start to let her know we'd like to get to know her but she's made if very clear from the start that she doesn't want to be friends with us and! that's okay! you can't be friends with everyone!

among other things that she has done, this girl does not know how to close a door. at her big age of 18, she will let the heavy fire doors slam behind her as she exits/enters the flat and she will leave her own door? ajar or completely unlocked when she's in her room. my room is between the front door of the flat and her door (super unfortunate) so i hear the slams the most. Everyone Else in the flat can close the doors softly so it's easy to tell when she leaves. the slams also echo in the corridor and can be heard even in the kitchen.

i messaged her on instagram the other day and i tried to be polite and understanding as i possibly could. i kept giving her the benefit of the doubt and giving her valid reasons so close the door Normally (exam season is coming up, we all have assingments and coursework to do) even though. it's just basic human decency and manners to close a door without slamming it.

she saw the message after avoiding it for 2 days (i had to put a note on her door to ask her to look at it), responded really dryly and. NOT ONLY is she continuing to slam the doors, she is ALSO closing the front door without locking it.

this girl makes me insane.

if she lacks so much common sense that she cannot do something so simple as using a door? i worry for her academics. she is doing LAW i thought people doing law are supposed to be smart

by the way she is not doing anything to fight against my stereotype against entitled, posh, rich people from expensive places to live in the uk </3

Ease up a tad, it’s not the end of the world and uni is also about learning that not everyone will be precisely on your wavelength

yeah i'm glad im on a diff wavelength to a hyppocritical, entitled, spoiled flatmate. she threatened to kick out another flatmate because their walls are thin, she complained about door slamming too yet she is the one doing it. she leaves messes in the kitchen and rotting food in the fridge and treats us like dirt so yes, i am happy to have learned i am on a different wavelength to a person such as her
