I am stuck between Leeds, Bayes and Bath!! Anyone has any suggestions?

My daughter was impressed with Bayes on open and offer holder day. Modules are strong and flexible. Lots of industry links / speakers.

Thanks for your reply 😁 That's so nice to hear!! May I ask if your daughter got to experience / had an idea of the student's life there? Thanks 😀

She visited the halls and seemed good for social spaces. We asked about social life as that's really important to my daughter and she felt like it was good. It actually felt like a good campus vibe but in London. She met some good people on offer holders day too.

Would love it if people who are at City now can say if it's good for socialising

Hi @ccmackyee213 ,

When it comes to choosing the right university, it's best to figure out which factors are important to you. I'd love to share my list of recommended factors to consider:

Modules 📖
Head onto the universities course page and look at the modules taught each year alongside the option modules you have to choose from, this way you can identify which more closely with your interests.

Pressure 📚️
This factor is purely what you feel more comfortable going with, if you want slightly less pressure that's perfectly fine, however if you really want to go for it in exams that's great too! If you have not put in your application yet, check the university page to see the grade requirements. If you have already received offers and you can see the grades they request, therefore you can use this to make the decision.

Cost of living 💵
I highly recommend comparing the prices of accommodations in the each area. The best way to do this by looking at the university owned accommodations, which should be on the university website, and the local private accommodations, you can use sites like "homesforstudents". You may choose you want certain things within your price range, such as an ensuite, common area and closer to campus.

Distance 🚶
Would you prefer to be closer to home or further? You could compare this using google maps.

The most important way to determine if the university is right for you is physically visiting it, preferably on an open day or offer holder day. If you can't attend these events, do not hesitate to email questions you have as it's important these are answered. Personally I emailed the head of the business school to ask my questions before I even applied!

I hope this helps, please feel free to ask me any questions,
-Sophia (university of Central Lancashire)
