College assignment/ Funding question for Mphil

My question is two-fold. I have not yet been assigned to a college. Is this unusual? are there others out there that still do not know what their college is yet? I applied to Cambridge before the funding deadline. Is there a chance that I can still get funding at this point? I feel like the funding is first-come, first-serve and since there is such a delay in my college assignment, all the funds are gone at this point.

Yes. I also don't know my college. I did not apply for funding so that is a whole different thing.

College assignment is not linked to course funding. Everyone upon application was assigned an internal funding number out of 30 (?) to see if you were good enough to be put forward, but that was done entirely by your academic department and not college. You cannot find out this number unless you submit a freedom of information request to the Cambridge admin, so if you don't do that then it is going to be a waiting game until July (when funding distribution ends)... But TLDR; nominations for course funding were done through your subject department.

Many offer holders in this forum are still waiting for college assignment, so it is entirely usual. If you have applied to the most selective/ popular ones (King's, Trinity etc.), then it naturally takes longer to hear back.

I did an open application for colleges. Relieved to hear I am not the only one though!
