What is the deadline to apply for student loans?

I’m not in school so I’ve not got anyone shouting at me to do them, so I genuinely have 0 clue what the deadline is. I’ve looked but can’t find an answer on when the deadline is. I’m starting in September this year

this is what posted on gov.uk website.

Applications for 2025 to 2026 full-time undergraduate and postgraduate funding are now open. The deadline for new students to apply for full-time undergraduate student finance is 16 May.If you're studying a part-time course, you'll be able to apply for funding in mid-May.

Hi @OliverSB286

The deadline to apply for student finance is coming up soon as mentioned so my best advice would be to just get it out of the way ASAP so that you don't have to worry about missing out! It does not take very long to do and is free to apply so it's a no brainer really!

If you have any questions about how to apply or where to find the application then please let me know, I am more than happy to help!

Thanks, Matt 🙂

Just to note that the 16 May deadline guarantees that your funding will be in place by the start of the academic year. It is fine to submit your application later, but if your evidence takes a while to process you run the risk of not having your funding available at the start of term.

I started my application this week. I submitted my details and my parent's finances. Now I have to wait 4 to 6 weeks. Will I receive my funding at the start of my academic year?

Yes as you have submitted before the deadline.
