From Law Degree to consulting

Hi,

I was wondering if someone could help me. I am about to finish my law degree and have decided to switch from pursuing a career in commercial law as a solicitor, to pursuing consulting. Where do I even start? Are they application cycles from August to November? Or is there still time now to apply for roles? Also what resources can I use to find out about deadlines, the solicitor equivalent is Legal cheek, what can I do to improve my CV as currently I only have law work experience and customer service experience?

Go to your uni careers service, they will have loads of info re consulting. Consulting supports companies, so get any commercial or business experience you can, to find out about business challenges. Commercial knowledge/experience is what you need.

Consulting too broad of a field to provide a proper answer with you giving further info.

If you're meaning areas like management and strategy consulting (typically the most popular), then the main recruiting season is late-August to November, so you'll have to wait until then. Smaller consultancies hire on a more ad-hoc basis so you'll have dig through LinkedIn and company websites to research those that might be hiring between now and when the large consultancy recruitment window opens.
