Bristol vs Exeter vs QMUL for computer science?

Hello,

I am choosing one of these universities as my insurance, and Bristol is AAB, whereas both Exeter and QMUL are ABB. I have visited all three universities and like them both. Which of these universities has better reputation, teaching quality and employability prospects?

I have compared the courses and they are fairly similar, with class sizes also being similar. Only difference being QMUL is in London, possibly more expensive but so is Bristol accommodation and living, so these factors do not matter to me.

Thanks.

Did you go to Open Days at these Unis - which one appealed the most, and felt the most comfortable?
Which course has the focus that interests you? Have you looked at all the optional units within all years of the degree - what would you choose if you went there? And do any of these Unis have any sort of placement or work experience - this add enormously to your graduate CV. Ultimately, its about where you are going to feel happiest if your Insurance becomes your definite Uni in August.

Hi there!

According to the complete university guide, Bristol is the best ranked for CS but as McGinger said, rankings should not be the only factor you should be considering and its far more important to go for the one where you feel the course and the environment suits you best. Exeter is probably the area with the lowest cost of living, but Bristol and London are livelier cities where there may be more for you to do. Which city do you think you would prefer to spend the next 3-4 years of your life living in? Have you tried chatting to any students from these unis online via TAP or Unibuddy?

I hope this helps too, best of luck!
