Hi @Cloe louise,

We’re really sorry to hear that you’re feeling like you don’t deserve happiness. It’s a painful thought, but please know that you’re not alone, and there is support out there for you.

Many people experience moments like this, and it’s okay to ask for help. In fact, reaching out is a sign of strength. You absolutely deserve support, and you absolutely deserve happiness.

Sometimes we can convince ourselves that happiness is something we have to earn - by looking a certain way, being a certain kind of person, or having lived a mistake-free life. But that’s just not true. Happiness isn’t something you have to “deserve.” It’s something everyone is capable of, regardless of who they are, what they look like, or what they’ve been through.

Your appearance doesn’t define your worth or your right to feel joy. You don’t have to be anyone else - just being you is enough.

If you're finding things hard, talking to a mental health professional can really help. They can support you in working through these feelings and help you find tools to feel more at peace with yourself.

And if you need someone to talk to right now, you can text ‘SHOUT’ to 85258 - it’s free, confidential, and available 24/7 for anyone in the UK who’s struggling.

Please remember, you are never alone. Support is always available; and no matter how you feel right now, please remember this: you absolutely deserve to be happy 💛

Best wishes,

Why do you feel that way?

What has shaped this belief?

I don't wish to fit in and life is what you make of it, entertain yourself, do things that make you happy

What made you form this belief?

I'd recommend speaking to your GP

I'd second all the posts above+ my personal thought is that if anyone has led you to believe in this before, it's really their problems, not yours. Please try not to blame yourself for others' problems (although I know it's hard). Also, do think about what are your long-term life goals. If having sex and having children are really the biggest goals for you, then actually in the end it only takes one person for you to be able to do that. There're 8.2 billion people in the world, and 69.5 million in the UK. This one person better be someone who values you and respects you to be granted that opportunity of enjoying these things with you.
