Student finance and national insurance number

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone else has been having an issue with their national insurance number after applying for student finance?

I’ve applied and been accepted but it said on the form that I still have actions to complete involving my national insurance number. The number is correct and mine, but when I put it into the complete the action it told me that it was already in use (this is my first time applying) but wouldn’t let me upload evidence in the next window.

I have messaged student finance twice about the issue, the first time the person said they’d passed it on to the dwp and it should be accepted and changed within 10 days. That rolled by and still no change.
I messaged again, this time the person said it was a system error that they were going to fix on 16th of April and I wasn’t the only account affected.
However, upon checking again today it still hasn’t been resolved or changed.

Has anyone else had this issue? I can’t complete my form without this step.

Hi there, when you contacted, did they have you confirm your National Insurance Number? Did they confirm if they had it already? Thanks, Stephen.
