Help Calculating Final BTEC Grade

Hi everyone, i do BTEC Health and Social Care Level 3 Extended Certificate NQF and I needed some help calculating my final grade as i tried to use the grade calculator on pearson’s website but it doesn’t work. In Unit 1 I got 47 marks (P), Unit 2 37 marks (M), Unit 5 (coursework) Merit, and in Unit 14 (coursework) I got Distinction. If anyone could help calculate that would be great. Thanks

Can you double-check your Unit 1 mark / grade, please? The reason I ask is that, assuming that you took your Unit 1 exam in January 2025 (did you?) then either your grade or your mark is wrong, as 47 marks would be a M. See Grade boundaries - January 2025 - BTEC Nationals, a screenshot of which is below:

Hmmm. Grade boundaries - January 2024 - BTEC Nationals (screenshot below) shows that 47 marks in Unit 1 would have been a M, not a P:

I'm going to assume that Unit 1 was just short of an M, so you didn't quite get an M, but got the maximum points you could for a P. If you find out something to help clarify why you were awarded an P despite the grade boundaries saying 47 marks (out of a possible 90) would be an M, then just let me know.

Also, is January 2024 when you took the Unit 2 exam too? (When you took each exam is important, as it allow an accurate mapping from the mark you achieved to the BTEC points you've earned.) As the January 2024 and January 2025 both have 37 marks just reaching the M boundary, I'm going to assume you scored the minimum points which an M could get you. If you did this exam at some other time, let me know.

Based upon this information, you have an M overall (65 points):

You're well clear of the M threshold (52 points) and quite a way from the D threshold (74 points), so even if we've got things slightly wrong above, the M is likely to remain accurate.
