Proof of identity problem

Hello,

My child is a UK citizen, but unfortunately when we started the application this weekend we realised their passport just expired.

Their birth certificate cannot be used as they were born in Los Angeles, USA.

We are going to apply for a new passport today but will probably miss the May 16th deadline.

In the meantime, is there any other form of ID we could upload? I have my birth certificate (mother) which is issued in the UK, and my name is also on my child's birth certificate, would that suffice?

If the passport is the only option, please could you tell me what happens if we can't provide proof of identity and miss the deadline by a few days?

Thanks for any advice you can give!

Hi there,

We don't have other ID options we can accept for students. They would need to renew their passport and once they have this, then submit the UK Passport Details Form with the new details. The deadline is 9 months from the start of the academic year. The guideline for new students to apply is before the 16th May, but they can still apply after this. Depending on when we receive this from them, will then determine if the finance will be in place or not for starting their course.

Thanks,
Claire
