Is my CPR evidence enough?

Hi there,

In 2017 I started a masters and needed to withdraw from the course a month after it started. Even though I only received sfe funding for the month I attended the course, I am now unable to access the postgrad loan.

My reasons for dropping out were mental health related. I have obtained a letter from the course leader, on headed paper, detailing the reason for my withdrawal (mental health) and that I was supported by the well being team at the uni in my decision.

However, I unfortunately didn’t seek support from my GP at the time. In the years since, I’ve been referred to the local mental health team, who have provided me with a report detailing the reasons behind my struggles (childhood trauma). The report is dated 2021, so unfortunately doesn’t refer to the period in which I withdrew from my course in 2017, but as my mental health is a result of the difficulties I faced in childhood, I hope this evidence will be taken into consideration.

My question is this: will the letter from the course leader, the mental health report from 2021, and a detailed statement from myself be sufficient evidence of my reasons for withdrawal for me to receive postgraduate funding again? I’m applying for the same course at the same uni.

Hope you can help,

B

Hi there,

You would need to send all the evidence with the application and a detailed covering letter. The team can then review and confirm if its been accepted or not.

Applications can take 6-8 weeks to process so I would suggest sending this to us as soon as possible.

Thanks,
Claire
