PLEASE HELP- I can't decide on a-levels

I'm about to sit my GCSEs, and our teachers basically expect us to have decided on our a-level choices by now- but i'm really unsure. I was originally planning to take art, english language, and biology, as well as core maths. But now i've started thinking abt french a-level instead of art.
Thing is, art has always been my passion since I was really young, and i've recently improved so much and am predicted a 7 or 8 at GCSEs, but I am HORRIBLE with my time management and keeping up with the deadlines. I also don't know what the work would look like (similarly, in all of my other alevel choiced) and i'm scared i'll fall behind, although i've been learning from my past mistakes in year 9 and 10. However i've recently grown to really love languages and be interested in possibly going into linguistics, i'd love to take french and english language alevels but id have to switch out one of my choices in order to take it. I feel like it'd be more beneficial because I am still really unsure of what job I want to do in the future- although I know that biology will be useful as I do want to be a medic in the RAF, but not forever.
If ANYONE has any advice (on ANY of the subjects i've mentioned) please help me out, it's stressing me out SO much and i'd appreciate some help).

Hii I was always at your stage when I was doing my nat5 (GCSE similar)

I just wanted to say, since I’m doing higher (a-levels similar)) this year, (in my opinion) it will be extremely stressful because there so much more information you need to learn in a shorter period time. Also, there’s always a next year if you did choose a subject over another!

I was also contemplating between 2 subjects which were History and Admin, I did have more passion for history since I really enjoyed it but I knew if I picked it, I would stress a lot because there’s so much more context I need to learn and me, myself : I’m not a good studying person (I procrastinate and leave things until the end) so I decided on admin.

Im not the best advice giver but since it’s exam season I don’t want you to stress and overwhelm yourself, and take things slowly and talk with someone like a friend.

You're right, thank you very much for the advice. I can relate to you because I tend to procrastinate a LOT with my art coursework, and I tend to be a person that leaves things till very last minute. I'll keep speaking to my friends about it, and just focus on the exams at the moment because I shouldn't be stressing myself out with this at the moment. Again thank you

hiyaa
basically art (idk what your school does but heres what I did)
im in year 12 btw
Year 12:
sept-dec: your school would give you a topic and provide you several artists to make sketchbook sheets, and do artist researches and basically explore more media and develop your skills
Jan- may/ june ish: The school would give you a topic and you have to find your own artists and do your own thing basically, while documenting your progress on A2 sheets or in your sketchbook. In the end of this project you make a final piece that shows what youve learnt
yea basically like gcse but more in depth (like do artist comparisions, lotttsss of sketches and drawings and experimentation stuff, use a range of media)

Year 13: idk much about this yet but the Y13s at my school said its like year 12 art but with an 4000 word essay

erm yea

PS if you do art it uses up A LOT of your time
but you dont have to revise for it soo

ADD ON: the Y12 end of year exam is 10 hours, year 13 is 15 hours, spread across 2-3 days

hiya,

So I am in year 12 and I currently take Maths,Art and Spanish and I think that if you're interested in deepening your cultural studies art and a language are really great for that at A Level, but I will tell you now completely honestly that a lot discipline is involved. MFL subjects include studying a film and a book and you have to make sure to keep up with the fast pace of A level but as someone with a passion for languages like me you should definitely do it, employers value it and it something amazing that can help you in so many amazing ways in the future.

in terms of A Level Art, every school structures it differently but you need to make sure that you are documenting as much as possible in your sketchbook as you're doing the work otherwise the empty pages start to pile. something to also consider is that for AQA A Level Art we are required to write and essay with a word count varying from 1500-3000 words which contributes to our coursework/personal investigation component.

if you want to talk more about this feel free to ask!!

Hi! So I take bio, chem and art which is sort of similar. Personally, I really love art especially in times like now where my end of year exams are near and I get a lot more time to focus on my other subjects to revise. You do need to keep up with deadlines though to avoid getting overwhelmed, but if you think you’ve managed that I think that’s the hardest hurdle dealt with.

If you did well at GCSE, I def think it’s a good shout as the course is very similar (at least so far, we haven’t started the essay yet). Also, consider if you’re staying at the same school or not because in my experience art departments across schools can be very different and can affect your marking while languages are based on external exams so your teachers won’t have as big as impact
