Is it worth to do foundation year in Durham?
Or better do year 1 in Nottingham?
Attended open days for both and both uni are amazing. Just worry about the course subjects, amount hours with the tutors, social student life, future job prospects.

Can't really go wrong with either. Have you looked at the course content for both? Which one do you prefer?

Both universities are solid indeed. Obviously, taking a foundation year adds an additional year to your academic program so that it is something that needs to be considered. That is, is it financially feasible to take that additional year? For what is worth, I did a foundation year too and things went smoothly but you have to factor that additional year into the equation.
I would look into the courses' syllabus to see what topics attract you the most as well as the overall course structure. That is, how many core and optional modules you may have, the amount of project-based modules, placement year, etc...
In general, you would be looking at around 35 to 40 hours of study per week. Half of them would be covered by timetabled activities (lectures, seminars, for example) and the other half by independent study.
