Am I a serious maths candidate for a top uni?

I'm in year 12 studying maths, FM , chem and history, (predicted 4A*) and I got 8 9s and 2 8s at GCSEs.

I want to study either maths or actuarial at uni, but I've recently had mocks and started TMUA revision; although maths was easy I found FM in my mocks a bit hard, and I can barely do TMUA questions right now.

I *think* generally I am a decent candidate for unis like UCL imperial lse, but for courses like maths (where I'd say I'm not a genius or anything at) would you say that I have a good chance?

Your grades are good enough to get into any Uni including Oxbridge, you'll need min 6.5 preferably 7+ in the TMUA and have an outstanding personal statement grades are only 60% of the job if you want to get into the top top Unis the PS counts for a lot.

Sure. One thing is that there are not a lot of tmua papers, so dont burn through them too quickly when youre still learning. The mat multiple choice questions are somewhat similar to tmua paper 1, so you could go through the livestream and mat mcqs first, then hit the odd tmua paper once youre getting decent marks.

As above, I'd say you would probably be Oxbridge material if you were to get some decent extracurriculars under your belt e.g. Olympiads and maths challenges.

I don't rate Imperial for Maths - Bath is better as they have a fantastic placement scheme.
