Warwick - switching course

Hi guys, I applied for PPE at Warwick however they have offered me a place to study just Philosophy. Does anyone know how easy it is to switch courses when you get there? I’d probably look to switch into Politics, International relations, maybe even PPE if possible (ideally something more quantitative as I want to break into IB). Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

the same thing happened with me this morning, I have called them and they said they'll ring me back later on, have you tried contacting them and seeing if they'd consider u for another course? that's what im trying to do rn

No response so far, however I really don’t think I could stomach 3 years of straight Philosophy. I find the subject interesting but not interesting enough to justify a pure degree in it. What are you thinking about doing?

nooo I feel the exact same way, I also contacted warwick but they haven't got back to me so im going to another uni for pure economics, that's why I applied for ppe only for the Econ side so I don't rly wanna wait for a response. im also fed up w warwick since they made me wait until a week before the deadline and offered me a course I didn't even apply for and its got nothing to do with what I acc wanna do so yeah not gonna bother lol

I don’t think it would be easy to switch to PPE once you’re there as you’d be missing quite a few core modules from first year. It would probably be manageable to swap to Philosophy and Politics in second year - I know someone who switched from Philosophy and Psychology to pure Philosophy, and someone who switched from Maths and Philosophy to Maths and Physics, relatively easy in second year :smile:
