Planning for summer internships

Thinking about life after uni can be super nerve racking with ideas of career opportunities. Whilst doing your degree and getting experience can be difficult to juggle, there are ways to get some experience. Summer internships are a great thing to look out for as they put you ahead of the pack and won’t have the struggle of being in term time!

There are a couple of things to know when it comes to looking for summer internships. Firstly, not all internships are paid. If you are looking for something that’s going to top up your funds then definitely either go for a paid one or maybe opt for a job especially if you’re a first year. Experience is great but being able to afford uni is also definitely important.

Once you know if you want to do an internship or not the next thing is definitely looking. There are a number of websites you can use. UCAS, Indeed, social media, LinkedIn and a Google search are all great ways to find out what opportunities are out there. If there’s somewhere specific you really want to gain some experience then definitely enquire. There might not be opportunities there just yet but it doesn’t hurt to ask!

Please reply if you have any questions or any advice!
