Worried About PGCE Maths Interview at Greenwich – Any Advice?

Hi everyone,
I’ve got an interview coming up for the Maths PGCE at the University of Greenwich and I’m feeling quite nervous. I was wondering if anyone here has recently been through it and could share their experience?

What kind of questions did they ask you?

Was there a presentation or test?

How did you prepare, and what do you wish you’d known beforehand?

Any tips or insights would be massively appreciated I really want to do well. Thanks in advance!

Congratulations on your interview!

What was written in the email? What kind of things have they already told you about the day?

Hey! Thanks 😊
The interview’s about 45 minutes long and will focus on current issues in secondary maths education. They’ll ask subject-specific questions and we’ll discuss them—apparently it’s usually done in a group setting, but they might do it one-to-one if needed.
They’ve advised us to read up beforehand, review our subject knowledge, and think of examples from any experience we have that could back up our answers.
They’ll be looking at:
* How well we communicate (speaking + listening)
* If we explain ideas clearly
* Our grammar and use of subject-specific vocabulary
* Our maths subject knowledge
Trying to get prepped now—if you’ve done it before or have tips, I’d love to hear them!
