Degree apprenticeships – where do people live + what’s the social life like?

Hi! I’m planning to apply for degree apprenticeships in London (maybe L’Oréal or BBC) and I’m trying to get a better idea of what life is actually like.

Where do most degree apprentices live? Do people tend to move out and live near work/uni or just stay at home and commute? I live about 2 hours away, so it’s doable, but I worry I’d miss out on making new friends and having a proper social life.

To be honest, I only have a couple of friends I’ll probably stay close with after sixth form, so I’d really like to meet new people. But it seems like it might be harder than at uni, especially if the uni part is online.

If you’ve done or are doing a degree apprenticeship, I’d love to hear your experience—especially around living, making friends, and balancing it all.

Thanks!

I'm also planning on doing an apprenticeship and am wondering the same thing!

Have you had any luck with research or anything?
