A level English Lang + Lit essay plan advice!!

Studying Othello and Gatsby (English Lang + Lit, Edexcel/Pearson) and I’m trying to come up with example comparison points for different themes that overlap but I’m struggling a bit with the themes below. I aim for 3 comparison points each. Would appreciate any help x

Theme: Friendship
I watched an Othello conference and they spoke about how at the start, the friendships between women are weakest but at the end they are strongest (Emilia initially lies to D about the handkerchief and she doesn’t support Bianca against accusations of prostitution but at the end, Emilia dies for D). Not sure if this idea can be incorporated or not? If not, I’ll take advice for other comparison points

Theme: Ambition

Theme: Reputation/Status

Theme: Change

I’m doing English Lit but with AQA so I’m not sure if the comparative points would be the same. Are the themes for both Gatsby & Othello or just one because I can try to help!

Themes are for both

OTHELLO:
Ambition = Iago duh & how his revenge turns into all tragedy possibilities (domestic, political & revenge), Cassio with getting his job back after being demoted, Emilia challenging typical gender roles
Reputation: Othello once he believes he’s cuckholded & in his final monologue, Cassio once he loses his job (“reputation, reputation, reputation” “everlasting part of myself”), Settings!!
Change: Emilia throughout becoming more loyal to D, Othello & D relationship, Settings!!

GATSBY:
Ambition = Gatsby & Myrtle affairs with Old Money folk to change their status (links to reputation too), Jordan being the only one with a career in the old money group
Reputation = Gatsby’s parties and house, Jordan cheating in her career, Daisy in Chicago prior to her marriage
Change = Time & pathetic fallacy!!

What a mouthful lmao but hope this helps
