Should I wear a suit for a graduation celebration ball?

So my university is having a celebration ball for students who are graduating this summer. I will be attending it and so far I have no clue what to wear. Should I wear a suit or should I keep it casual. Please guys any advice and help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance

If you are male, then the usual go to would be a black tuxedo.
Keeping it casual seems a little sloppy in my opinion.
If you want to wear something like a kurta, I think it should be fine (I would check with the dress code). However, I would still go with the tux to be safe.

Since it’s a ball, wearing something more formal like a suit is definitely a better choice than casual jeans and a top. Most universities don’t have strict everyday dress codes, but for special events like balls or galas, formal attire is usually expected. It’s always a good idea to check the event invitation or ask the organizers if there’s a specific dress code.
