What it’s like to be a student ambassador and, why it's worth it

Becoming a student ambassador is more than just a part-time role. It’s a chance to grow, connect, and make a real impact. The program offers students the opportunity to represent the university at events like open days, campus tours, school visits, and online panels. It's also a great way to develop transferable skills such as public speaking, leadership, and teamwork-that are valuable for future employers.

Student Ambassadors play an important role in welcoming prospective students and sharing honest, real-time experiences about studying at Kingston University. Whether you are helping at a university fair, guiding visitors around campus, or supporting digital events, every task helps you build confidence and gain professional experience in a supportive environment.

My personal experience as a student ambassador has been the most rewarding part of my time at Kingston University. As an international student currently studying my master’s, this role has allowed me to meet students from all backgrounds, improve my communication skills, and feel more connected to the university community. It has also helped my personal growth. I have stepped out of my comfort zone and gained experience that I know will be beneficial for my future career.

I recommend anyone planning to study at Kingston University and looking for a way to get involved, build their CV, and contribute to campus life to be a student ambassador. It’s an experience that will stay with you for a long time after graduation.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity! Applications open in September
