Worried about requirements

I'm a year 12 student, and like so i was wondering so during gcse's everything else apart from english lang, i got a grade 7 but for my english language ( i got a grade 5 but i was 1 mark away from a grade 6 ,[I have proof too] ) and like all these universities, and apprentiships, they r asking minimum grade 6 gcse engloish lang.

thats making me rlly stressed out even tho im only in yr 12, i dont want to resit english lang since thats gonna waste a lot of my year.
I was hoping anyone would help to see if that grade would be a really bad problem.

Hi

I'm sure if you email the places you are applying to, they may give you the the benefit of the doubt- it's only 1 mark away! Ask around, even the ones you aren't applying to. If you get enough acceptances, you could just straight apply those. I wouldn't retake it as you want to maximise your predicted A-Levels.

I might not be much help...but hope this helps?

Lots of students ask to have their exams re-graded if they are close to the boundary.
Another examiner might well score you a couple of marks higher achieving the grade you want. They do this at all the grammar schools....so just ask at your school/college how to go about it. It's a very common thing apparently. Good luck.

have you asked for a remark? Pessimistically, unis won't see/care what exact marks you get, they only see the grade.Saying that, I wouldn't say it's a deal breaker for many places. Most will emphasis predicted A-level grades as this is what they base their offer and requirements on.
