Education section UCAS

Im currently studying at the university of brighton in first year. Im in the process of applying for reapplying for first year at a different university (Bournemouth). I the education section what am i meant to add about the university of Brighton as I haven't finish 1 year here yet. Do i just not add anything at all as ive not got any qualifications yet and just write about it in my personal statement instead?

You add the Uni name to the education section and the details of your degree course, with start and potential finish date as a 'pending qualification'. You must declare this study - and you will need to use your current Uni for your reference.

Ive already got my previous sixth form to do my reference, I emailed the university and they said i could use my sixth form as a reference. Is that not ok? Also what if I withdrew from this year, would i still have to add it or not?

Yes, you do have to add your current Uni study even if you withdraw from that course - if you don't its fraud, something that UCAS and all Unis take very seriously.

Most Unis will want a brief reference from your current Uni, reassuring them that you have not been 'asked to leave' - either because of academic failure or misconduct. But, if they do they can ask you for this after you have applied. Btw, it would be helpful if your school explained briefly why you are now applying to restart your degree.

So its ok to send without a reference from your current uni but its preferred to? Also would i have to wait to complete first year before they give me a place as they want to see my grades at then end of the year not just the first semester, or will they just use my alevel results and i will get a place straight away?

Im currently doing business management with economics at the university of brighton. Im in the process of applying to a different university to redo first year and cant seem to find my course in the education section. Its a BSc(Hons) so would i choose that option even though I've not finished first year and wont be finishing the whole course as im moving university's to restart first year or do i choose a different option for my situation?

It’s at the discretion of the new university. If they’ve said it’s ok then it’s ok.
If you’re applying for second year entry then your offer will be conditional and subject to RPEL/APEL mapping of your current first year results and modules against the first year modules of the new course (so that the credit can be transferred across).
If you’re applying to restart then it depends on whether your A levels meet the standard entry requirements. If they don’t then you might be asked to complete the year of your current course to supplement your A levels.

There’s a worked example linked in the OP of the University Transfer FAQ at the top of applications, clearing and ucas

if you will only complete first year then you will NOT have a BSc qualification. You need to list either a CertHE (if your university offers early exit awards) or use “other” options to write in “Year 1 BSc Business Management”

Im wondering what im meant to put in the results section and qualification date as ive not got end of yea results. Also for the modules i have done i didnt get a grade i just got percentages so do i just write what percentage i got in the results section for each module i did in first semester? Im also unsure what im meant to put in the awarding organization section. Thanks

No problem. If any of the unis you apply to have any questions, they’ll just request an interim transcript in any case.
