Renting privately in ldn

Hello,

Needed some tips on where to look and what to do for when I am renting privately in ldn whilst attending uni.

I'm still looking for a place, it's so hard finding something cheap and near my uni (I wanted a flat like between Kent and Ldn but ig its not happening) so any webs would be appreciated.

Also how much do ppl who rent privately pay monthly? Like going out cost, food costs and bills etc, is it affordable?

My SFE is giving me £10k since my potential uni is out of ldn (Medway) unless I go kingston which then I'll get around £13k.

It's really expensive. Student accommodation through universities are the cheapest way, you get as low as £8,000pa. Private student accommodation is £20,000-£25,000pa, which is mad.

The lowest private rental I have seen is shared house, 5-6 rooms, kitchen and 1 bathroom, no living room erc. at £10,500. Average is £17,000. Both these include bills in zone 2. Central is even higher, which is why students rent further out.

Look on your university accommodation page. Otherwise, spareroom.com, rightmove.com might help.

Food and going out is £2,000-£4,000pa, depending on how much you drink and your commute costs.

Good luck!

Hi @limbobimbo

I study here in Kingston and I have previously done a post about how much I spend in a month
Monthly Spending Expenses as a Kingston Student - The Student Room

I also have a few website links that may be useful on this other post 2nd and 3rd Year Accommodation at Kingston - The Student Room

I hope this helps
