Transferring unis

How does transferring unis work?
If I attend a regular uni for first year then want to transfer to a Russel group. Obviously if I don’t get the grades
The Transfer FAQ answers most questions you might have.

If you don’t meet the entry requirements, it’s less likely that another uni will take your year 1 results into account to supersede them.

And top Unis will always look at your A level results even for a transfer,
This is not therefore a 'back door' to a 'better' Uni if you don't get high enough grades for their usual Y1 entry.

Hi there,

generally, to transfer to another uni, they will still look at your A-Level grades. Transferring to a 'Russel' group uni after doing a year at a 'regular' uni is not a cheat code. I have however seen people do undergrads at non-russell group uni's and then go on to do a masters at top uni's including imperial college or Cambridge.
