Teaching with a Linguistics Degree

Hii, I’m a current yr13 I’m just about to sit my A-Levels and am planning to do an English Language & Linguistics degree, and after that I’m hoping to go into teaching (preferably teaching English Lang for years 12&13, but I know that often you have to teach years 7-11 first) would it be possible for me to teach English at secondary even though my degree is English Lang and not English lit?

You can go into teaching, you'll have to get a postgraduate qualification (PGCE or TeachFirst type thing). Your training will require some teaching of years 7-11 to obtain QTS. As part of this you'll teach English Literature, so that's fine.

However, you need to bear in mind that most schools and colleges teach English Literature at A level, so you'll probably want to do this during training to give you maximum flexibility.

Also, if you only want to teach years 12-13, the only way to guarantee that is to teach at a sixth form only college.
