Choosing advanced highers

Hi, im picking my options for s6 and wondering if i should take advanced highers? im not 100% sure what i want to do at uni but somewhere along the lines of accountancy & banking. these are what ive took for s5
HIgher math
Higher english
Higher physics
HIgher chem
Higher p.e.
If i were to take an adv higher it would probably be math and/or physics as they are my strongest subjects. thanks

Hi! An Advanced Higher or two could be useful in helping you adjust to the workload of uni, and employers may like them.

If you're thinking about accountancy or banking, then maths is probably the best advanced higher to take, followed by physics.

In terms of any other subjects, if your school or a local school/college offers it, you might want to consider crashing Higher Accounting.

Advanced Highers can be really beneficial, and I'd probably take at least Advanced Higher maths. But honestly, if you don't want to take more advanced Highers than that, or even any at all, that's alright and it shouldn't impact you getting into uni (unless you want to study in the rest of the UK).

Many people just take one or two advanced Highers along with some more Highers, and I think this sounds like a good idea for you since you're not 100% sure on what you want to do.

Advanced Higher maths (+ maybe physics) will set you up with a great additional foundation for doing accountancy or banking at uni. If you take some Highers alongside this, then it'll give you more variety and options in case you change your mind.

Hope this helps, and if you have any more questions, feel free to ask me. 😊
