Urgent- uea or birmingham for env science
I’ve been so conflicted on which to pick and need advice. Both are good for environmental science, I am aware that Birmingham is better ranked and more “prestige” however I want to go to uea. The course are very similar but I slightly prefer ueas. I prefer the campus, city and it’s a lot closer to home (only an hour away) which I prefer. I am worried I’d be giving up a better uni and potential opportunities if I denied Birmingham and went to uea. Are uni rankings that important? My careers advisor said as long as I get work experience it doesn’t matter but I want to know others opinions

Fortunately, employers nowadays care more about how good of a candidate you are, not where you went to uni 🙂 Logic will tell you that choosing the university you would rather go to would result in you enjoying your studies and your university life more. When you look at university rankings, there is one large problem: they look at subject success (this means that don't just look at the bachelor's degrees, they'll look at Master's degrees and research funding). For your choice in undergraduate degree, choose where you'd rather go! I'm hoping to go to UEA to study Env Sci too; I just need to finish my CertHE with the OU first 🙂 Best of luck!
