During my GCSE results day I was told that I couldn't take a subject I wanted to take and needed for university despite getting grades between 6-9 in my GCSEs. I made the stupid mistake of only applying to my school's sixth form. I spent the last few weeks of summer emailing schools in my area asking if they had any remaining places in their sixth form and ended up with responses from two different sixth forms that accepted me. I'm sure if you get good enough GCSEs nearby sixth forms would consider you, especially if there are spaces to fill.

okay, thank you so much! i thought there might be trouble applying bc the online submissions were closed for most schools, i wasn't aware i'd be able to email them.

You can easily find the contact details of a sixth form on their website, so once you get your GCSE results you can easily call or email a school with them to ask if they're willing to give you a late spot. I hope everything works out in the end!
