basically she sent her applications down for a different course in december and she has made her firm and insurance choices down however now she has changed her mind for ther course she wants to do, first she wanted to study maths and now she changed her mind to midwifery so she is thinking of applying through clearing so will she need a new personal statement? thank yaa

Hi! Usually you do need to write a new personal statement when applying through clearing if you're changing your course. Universities typically ask for them to be sent to them directly, and not through ucas. https://universitycompare.com/advice/ucas/clearing-faqs - this website here talks about it in a bit more detail 🙂 hope this helps!

my friend said thank you so much:wink:
There’s no need for her to wait for clearing.

If her firm/insurance offer midwifery then she can ask them to consider her for the new course.

If they don’t then she can contact ucas to swap her replies to declines so that she can apply elsewhere through clearing

you could also apply though UCAS Extra but it depends on the university rather they would accept a new personal statement. Check with the universities before you apply
