AQA A-level Psychology [May 2025] Laptop use

I had a laptop in my gcse English literature exam and I've been using one for English literature A-level all year. I've just been allowed access to one for my psychology exam (AQA) but as my first time will be during the actual exam I'm not sure how it works. My main concern is whether or not I can answer maths question in the work book provided or what else I'm supposed to do-this is assuming that I'll be using the same software as English literature. I know sometimes they ask you to draw graph as well so I just want to make sure that if I wrote answers in my exam book they'd take that as well as my printed out work. I just want to be certain.

Hii! It may be best to inform the invigilators on the day of the exam that you're allowed to use a laptop and express this issue in regards to maths.

The exams all get scanned in, so they'll probably just scan in the paper version of the maths you do along with the typed up one. As long as the exam info is there on the front, it should be okay.

You should have been using a laptop in lessons so you would know. It's supposed to be 'your usual way of working' so your school has handled this poorly.

I work on a laptop in all of my lessons but all of the maths done is psychology was done in a research methods booklet that had already been made, I didn't have to type anything up as it would have been a waste of time. I just never have used a laptop in a psych exam because our exams officer wouldn't acknowledge that Psychology was an essay based subject so I want to be sure about what to do.

As I said your school has let you down by not having the opportunnity to practise Psych exams. Can you go in for an afternoon to sort this ie try a past paper under exam conditions with a laptop?

Hi, i used a laptop for my alevel psychology last year, what i did was answered any graph/chart or maths/research methods questions in the exam booklet itself not typed up. Everything else i typed. On the laptop i would type question 13. I answered in the booklet then proceed. Hope that helps
