maths makes me panic in exam conditions!

I do A level maths and I love maths and problem solving. However, since year 9 I can remember getting super stressed during maths exams. Does anyone else experience this? Throughout the exam (or even if I'm just timing myself at home) I get more and more stressed and my body aches afterwards.

Does anyone else have this problem and has anyone overcome it?

Thank youuuu

Tell me about it.

Things that helped me were:

A lot of practice papers under timed conditions

Try to focus (if you have problems doing this, try meditating or going into the flow state often and quickly)

Regulate my thoughts and focus on the present

Manage my time appropriately e.g. mark where you should be at in your exam paper when 1/4, 1/2/ 3/4 of your time is up; allocate sufficient time per mark

Manage your time based on the economics of how many marks you can get vs how much time you can spend on the question

Read the question carefully (even if it's a second or two longer than usual), then work on the question. The worst thing you can do is misinterpret the question and then go on a rampage giving the right answer for the wrong question.

Treat the real thing like a practice run - the less pressure you have, the better your focus. One way of doing this is to diminish the consequences of the exam - at least to yourself.
