No! Either he’s not reading the room correctly or he’s using/manipulating you. Please set boundaries with him and if he continues doing this, I would suggest distancing yourself, don’t be his friend.

You clearly don't have much contact with students if you think that all they do is study. There are forums on this site to discuss all sorts of things, including relationships. The question is perfectly appropriate.
And for the OP, that sort of guy is not someone you should be around. That is very much taking advantage of your vulnerability. No one should ever touch you inappropriately. Unless it's an innocent misunderstanding, you should very much not be friends with or seek support from people like that. It is not normal and should not happen.

If you look at the bar at the top of your screen on TSR, you'll see the main topics.
These include: GCSE and A-level, Revision and exams, University, Career and Jobs, Life and Relationships and finally Student finance.
We all have lives, even if some of us are interested in careers otherwise.
