How does Macbeth and banquo reaction to fate differs ?
In Macbeth we are invited to see how Macbeth and Banquo reaction differs to the fate that witches revels their high out the text Banquo refusal to the witches prophecy creates contrast between him and Macbeth.arguably Shakespeare intentially contrast these characters to presents the difference in their traits as masculine and how they creates to the witches manipulated nature to consume them in to their fantasy life by breaking the chain of being and creates destructure to the kingdom of Scotland .

At the start of the play both of the characters are seen to meet the witches where Banquo has deliberately isolated them from the natural world and calls out for the moral gravity that witches are not part of . In act 1 Banquo started “look not like th’inhabitants of’th’earth “the motif of subversion emerges through the witches rejection of natural work making them reveal as they are of the other world the noun ‘earth’ has connotations of living and connectives which the witches refuse to believe making them seen out of the world highlights Banquo resistance to their irresistible allure contrasting with Macbeths inner all consuming turmoil. This creates a relief in the readers mind as they are aware of Macbeths treacherous intentions compare to Banquo making him a foil of Macbeth ,creating a start contrast between them .Banquo refusal to the witches reveals his strong disbelief in the daemonologie and revealing his straightforward thoughts about the witches unnatural consuming power reflects his character as the ideal men ( stating to his belief strongly )in the Jacobean era. This links to how they differ in their fate about the witches and his reaction has seen to bring comfort and main the order in the Scotland by his loyalty compare to Macbeth which he deliberately oppose to.

As the play progresses Macbeths soliloquy reveals his intentions as duplicitous and masking of his ambitions . In act 1 Macbeths revels “false face must hide what the false heart doth know hiding his true intentions the metaphor “false face symbolises masking of inner guilty and ambitions while “false heart” symbolises the necessity to hide his through intentions reveals highlighting duplicity in his character reveals how he understands the significance of the fact to hide his intentions reveals, img himself as antagonistic figure. Additionally there is a use of dramatic irony that lies in there as Duncan is unaware of Macbeths treacherous intentions while the audience already knows that he is plotting his murder .Duncans failure to perceive reality nightlight Macbeths success in his regicide and other cruel crimes driven by the witches demonstrates the important ace of outward appeared to conceal inner corruption. This reveals to the audience the clear differences in their characters as Macbeth fundamentally creates his character as duplicitous revealing to the audience the harsh reality of the importance to deceitful in order to gain the power which links to the great chain of being as Macbeth deliberately cloaks to usurp the throne by regicide going against the fact everything has been relinquish by god and predetermined causing destruction to this will lead to eventual downfall in Scotland presenting Macbeth as the demonic figure like the witches who mislead and destroy acting as antagonists. This links to Macbeths intentions as duplicitous and ambiguous while he successfully becomes the target of the witches manipulation by showing him the wrong path to follow and go against the fate the god has reassigned for him.

As the play progresses Macbeth cruel intentions leads to many numerous murders as banquo becomes his next target .Banquo calmly and strongly reveals his belief and Macbeths cruel intentions . In act 3 he states “it will rain tonight” the verb “rain” has connotations of pouring happiness and peace thus this simple sentence reveals Macbeths straightforward belief in his murder as the rain shrouds symbolises the blood spilled in his murder . Revealing the bloodshed that has taken place in the play .the further motif of darkness reveals how Macbeth will conduct his murder under the might so he is not suspicious of his murder and reveals how this will happened in the night of civility where he should be feeling safe to sleep but due to Macbeths tyrant figure he will conduct his murder under the darkness . This reveals to the audience how Scotland is unsafe and in danger in the hands of Macbeths as his fall in to insanity. Which Banquo is oppose to as he accepts his fate without running away from it he choose to face it in a strong masculine way makes him the foil of Macbeth as he is continuously muddying people to satisfy his own safety.this links to the patriarchal society as to how Banquo choose to face his fate under the darkness like a strong men other than leaving Scotland in the hands of Macbeth he is deliberately seen as a strong malevolence character that the witches failed to manipulate through their prophecy. This demonstatrrs how Shakespeare uses both character to make a significant difference between the two characters reveals how Banquo calmly and strongly face his final night which differs to Macbeths all consuming nature.

At the end of the play when Macbeth faces his final battle he sees it as a victory while this brings his fatale end demonstrates his unwillingness to give his power and face the fate that has been determined for him. In act 5 scene 8 Macbeth states I will fight till from my bones my flesh be hacked“ the use of violent imagery suggest his willingness to go to any extend to remain seated on the crown as the king . The noun”flesh has connotations of connectives and physical part of body which will give significant amount of pain and suffering but he can endure this in order to be the king. This violent imagery brung back his masculinity that encapsulates with violent and stronger that he symbolic of as he faces the final battle . Additionally this foreshadows his hamartia irony lies in this as Macbeth sees it as glorious victory while audience knows he is facing his final battle which will leads to his fatale end and bring Scotland the peace that has taken away by Macbeth ;the flesh being hacked away can be seen as grim prediction. This reveals Macbeth as continuously changing character from once respected noble man to despise man this highlights him as a deceitful man to the audience which creates a relief and relax atmosphere as he will face death and Scotland will be back to its original form while highlighting the consequences of moral corruption in the Jacobean era this links to the seven deadly sins specially uncheck ambitions that leads to greater consequences as he commit regicide and innocent murder in order to stay as the king and leaves the power to himself which leads to his hamartia and fatale end . Shakespeare presents Macbeth as not the glorious king for Scotland as he refuses to fave his fate even in his last battle he is strongly against gibing up his kingship and facing the fate.
In conclusion Macbeth and Banguo differs significantly as Banquo is foil of Macbeth antagonist figure much like the witches who aims to destroy and mislead the characters. In the Jacobean era men were seen to be the victorious and violent in order to safe their country while Macbeth is the realm enemy of Scotland as he considers murdering innocents. Due to the regicide he not just betrayed the king he broke the chain of being and the fact everything is chosen by god he disarray this and satisfy his own destiny leading to his tragic end as a antagonist figure.
