Guilty about leaving mum for uni

Hi,
So I'm currently deciding where to go for uni. I have a single mum who doesn't have basically any close friends or family where we live right now. We are from the north but all the unis I love are far down south.
I feel guilty for leaving her but I know that I should "prioritise myself"
She jokes and says it's fine and that she'll just die alone (jokingly) but just breaks my heart a little... What do I do?

It’s completely natural to feel torn, especially when you’re so close to your mum. But you absolutely should go for the life and opportunities you want; this is your future, and you deserve to chase it without guilt. Your mum loves you, and deep down, she’ll be proud and happy to see you growing, thriving, and building a life you’re excited about. It might be hard at first, but she’ll adjust and your success will mean the world to her. You’re not leaving her behind; you’re just stepping into your future.☺️
