A cry for help (English literature a level)

I am in year 12 doing English literature a level with upcoming mocks and this subject is cooking me. I try to revise using mind maps, practice questions etc but nothing seems to help and I feel like I’ve literally lost my ability to write. I don’t know if I can answer a full 3 papers on all my texts in just 4 weeks time. What can I do to improve? Does it ever get better? Will my suffering ever end???

Ahh I’m sorry I don’t do any of those books you are studying I’m afraid 😓, I start streetcar and handmaids tail after my AS exams :frown: for Othello I brought this quotation bank off Amazon which I memorised from and that helped. Also blurting stuff from poems helped me

I'm in Y13, I do HMT and Frankenstein as well and yh it's a horrible combination to study, my advice would be start w context and go from there to find quotes, moments and comparisons that link to it to tick off AO3. It's a lot less overwhelming when you cut it down to focus on things that'll definitely be useful  good luck 🫡

hello, im Y13 and do the exact same books as you. i would recommend doing essay plans for key themes in each book, and then look at what quotes you can use across multiple themes and practice analysing them. i would also try and find a couple of quotes that arent used by everyone and are a bit more varied. this will show a deeper understanding of the text. for dramas, remeber to include dramatic techniques such as stage craft so you distinguish between prose and drama. i find looking at examiner reports over the years useful, as it has key information on what to avoid. it really is just practice and repetition, which is annoying because you cant shortcut it. but itll get better with more practice. good luck
