Can I apply for MSc Media and Communications at LSE without a social science degree?

I’m hoping to apply for the MSc Media and Communications at LSE after completing my undergraduate degree.

According to the entry requirements, they expect Either 2:1 degree or equivalent in social science, or 2:1 degree or equivalent in another field with professional experience in the media and communications field.

I’m currently studying BA in Creative Industries at the University of Manchester, and I’m wondering whether not having a formal social science background would be a major disadvantage. If I graduate with strong grades and build relevant experience, would that be enough to make me a competitive candidate?

I’d really appreciate any advice or insights from people who’ve applied or are familiar with the programme!
