phone caught in my pocket in exam

i didnt realise i left my phone in my pocket in the exam bc i was so nervous . an invigilator asked if that was a phone in my pocket towards the end of my exam and i told her yes it was bc there was no point in lying as it was obvs it was my phone. i also told her that i switched it off beforehand when i forgot to put it in my bag. i was very stressed and couldn’t think straight before heading into the exam. this happened during econ paper 1 AS level edexcel. ive been told to write a statement and its getting sent to edexcel. im honestly very anxious bc ive worked hard for this exam and for it to be ruined by a silly mistake which i take responsibility for is very sad. i cant stop thinking about this and im so scared i didnt use my phone at all but i understand that this is very srs now so im just going to keep praying any help would be appreciated and pls spare me the silly comments ‘why would bring ur phone in’ and ‘youre finished’ any help and advice would be greatly appreciated

honestly, its over now. No point of procrastinating, it happened to someone ik and they got saved because the invigilators didn't see him use the phone. I'd say just focus on the rest of the exams and you got this!!
im a gcse student, idk if this is the right time but what is econ like?

I think you'll be fine - you might get questioned by some teachers/other staff but since you told the truth when asked and your phone really was turned off, you'll be able to defend yourself. Contrary to popular belief examiners do have hearts 😆 and they try not to punish students unfairly. Hope this helps and best of luck!!!!

Haha thanks! Sounds like econ is fun , at times 😭. Exam invigilators would've noticed if you were cheating with your phone surely and im pretty sure they will side with you!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but i was caught with a flash card for a mock back in october by an invigilator. I was suspended for a day and my school disqualified me. My school sent letters home and had a meeting with my head of house over the severity of being caught with material. I can’t tell you what the outcome will be but edexcel does follow strict procedures regarding cases like this and majority of the time you will be lucky if the least you get is 0 marks for that paper.
thank u for ur honesty. i understand the consequences that will happen but im hoping i get zero marks deducted and dont get disqualified. i have been told that im allowed to continue my exams but i will have to do much better in them considering the possibility of losing marks.

Reading over all the replies it seems t to be a mixed bag. If you've been told you can continue exams you should be fine, but be REALLY careful what you have in your pockets next time!!!! Do you have a safe place to put stuff? Maybe rent a locker or leave it with a friend you trust

i will make sure to leave my phone in my bag or just leave it at home next time those are the safest options

Do you have screen time on your phone? Maybe you can prove you weren’t on it by that
