Manchester (Actuarial Science + Mathematics) vs Warwick (MMORSE)

Hi, I have received unconditional offers for both courses and would appreciate any insight into which would be a better choice for me to firm.

I would most likely want to enter the financial industry and, if possible, become an investment banker, but I realise that this career aspiration might be too idealistic to base my university choice upon. Thus, I am looking for a program which will give me the best versatility in career opportunities and relevant work experience in finance.

Currently, I am leaning toward Warwick due to their QS rankings in mathematics and economics, + reputation for getting students into internship programs. The advantage I see to Manchester is the better opportunities a big city might offer + a higher overall QS ranking?

To be honest if you want to go into finance definitely go to Warwick.
Firstly, QS rankings are pretty useless (they change constantly and are general to every subject) - finance/consulting firms look at 6 unis primarily as their 'target unis': which are Oxbridge, LSE, UCL, Imperial and Warwick, so you'd be better off going to Warwick. Manchester is a 'semi target' at best
Also, if you want to go into finance then you'll likely be working in London anyway, so location doesn't really matter
In conclusion, definitely go to Wariwck for finance!
