Oxbridge GCSEs

Hi,

I was wondering if oxbridge cares if you have ok ish GCSEs? I am talking about 5 A*s 4 As and two Bs?
Even if I have 4 A* in three sciences for A level? And extra currics etc . Will my chances be greatly reduced if everything is fine but my GCSEs aren’t perfect?

You will find that most of the people at oxbridge had very solid GCSEs usually 8s and 9s- BUT with those very good predicted A levels and if you do well in the exam and interview I don't think it will be a massive deal. They do look at them. But if there is a specific reason you think the grades aren't what they could've been like because of an underperforming school (although your grades are very good so maybe not applicable) or some illness or traumatic event, you can include it in a statement and they will look at the grades in context. if you are still in yr 10 or 11 and there's a chance you can get the two Bs up to As then it for sure won't be an issue at all really but as is you should be fine as long as you work super hard at your A levels and put in a good admission Best bet is to make everything else as good as possible, the GCSEs are not anywhere near the most important factor
