URGENT: Choosing LSE accom

Im trying to book student halls but all the ones I would have preferred- carr saunders and Bankside- are unavailable.
I’m torn between roseberry which is catered and 30 minute walk from lectures and high holborn- self catered and more expensive but only an 8 minute walk.
For context I’m a home student looking for quite a sociable accom with a good location
Which should I choose?

Are rooms still available at Passfield? Because that's dominated by Home students. 😉

Is it possible to check availability of accommodation before firming LSE? I'm worried about firming then not being able to find accommodation?

It doesn’t let you onto the portal to check availability until two days after you’ve firmed. Last time I checked there were still a few single rooms free- sydeney webb, roseberry, high holborn and internationals- and then a few shared rooms too in carr saunders and passfield. Almost all en-suite rooms are gone too apart from Sydney webb but is one of the furthest accoms

Yeah I've not firmed it yet but I think I will and I'm so scared there's not going to be any accom left

Ngl when I booked most of them were gone with the remaining ones either shared rooms or quite far from campus. I’d defo recommend firming asap as they’re only getting more filled up. However, if it is a deciding factor for you then once you’ve firmed check availability and if there’s nothing left contact ucas as you have 14 days after firming and insuring to change any of your decisions to one of your other offers.

How does that work? Surely once you've firmed and insured, all other offers are automatically declined and will then be offered to other applicants so no longer avail to you? I was under the impression that if you decide you no longer want your firm you're released into clearing?

As long as it’s within 14 days it’s fine. You would need to contact a ucas advisor who would guide you further (don’t just go on and decline yourself). It’s definitely possible as that’s what my school told us all and my friend changed from Edinburgh to Manchester despite initially completely declining it.

I did read that but it's not clear whether your previous offers which were declined are still available? I can't imagine the unis that have been declined would wait 14 days before offering that place to other students unless it's one that isn't competitive?
