Does my physics grade matter if i want to do Law in Uni of Edinbrugh?

ive got my higher physics exam tommorow and im really bad at physics im not even sure i can get a C but my history, english, music and maths exam went well. Im hoping for 3As 1B and C i get wider requirements for Uni of Edinbrugh and i also got into their sutton trust programme for law. If i do fail physics are all my chances of getting into Law in Edinbrugh out the windo?

Hello @wonderful-libel

I imagine with 5 A Levels that if you get at least three As it would be difficult for a university to say no considering the number of A Levels you are doing. However, it does depend on a number of different circumstances. If I remember correctly, with the sutton trust programme you get a slightly reduced entry criteria and so this should help.

Ultimately the grades for all your subjects are important regardless of what they are in because once you have finished A Levels employers and educational institutions become less concerned about the subject and more concerned about the grades in most circumstances.

I hope this helps. If you have any further questions please do let me know.

Edinburgh uni don’t really take people who fail a subject. They don’t even consider people who are resitting the subject. But if you do get a c there may still be a chance, just don’t be too hard on yourself - it’s not the end of the world.

Good luck for results day 😀
