Exam Season Tips

Looking after yourself during exams is key. You don’t want to over work yourself to the point you are tired all the time or forget what you are trying to study or even remember!

Some top tips we have to keep your well-being positive throughout your exams are:

-Take breaks- breaks are just as important to your study as revising.
- Take time to relax and do something fun in between exams

I found it good to write down all of my exams and there dates so I could cross them off as soon as they were over. It was a slightly daunting list to create but the feeling of crossing them off one by one was such a nice feeling.

Hi All,

Nice idea Daisy, thankyou for starting this thread!

One thing that helped me is to have a visual calendar of all my exams, which I would work backwards from to schedule in what I would revise and when. I used to colour-code my study blocks per module to make sure I didn't miss anything out, but also ensured to have at least a weekend day and a couple of afternoons during the week (unless I had an exam the next day!) free to do to other things such as go on walks, see friends or go shopping, for a bit of a break. Having these things blocked out of your calendar as part of your plan is a way you can take good breaks whilst knowing it won't affect your overall revision.

As revision goes, its about having both quantity and quality and scheduling a plan which includes both study sessions and breaks/free time is a way to make sure you cover both!

I hope this helps, looking forward to hearing more!

Hi!

I would second the ideas about taking lots of breaks and scheduling your week well! These always help me and I always recommend them. Some other things I would recommend are:

Having something fun planned for each week to keep you motivated! It can be small if you are really busy, but it is a good idea to try and do this!

See if there is a way that you can reward yourself after every exam! This doesn't have to be expensive or big, but even just a small treat or coffee to get you through it.

Try and keep in touch with friends and family. It can be hard to do this when you are busy but it can really keep you motivated.

I like the idea of crossing exams off when you have done them! It is really good to keep you motivated and a visual way of seeing how far you have come.

I hope some of these help 🙂
