Societies. Societies are interest-based clubs that meet up often, some examples from my university include the psychology society, knit n' natter, and the debating society. If you join a society that you are interested in, you'll be able to meet people with similar interests!
2.
Sports! Universities have all kind of sports clubs, at my university you can play every sport either casually or professionally (competitions, etc.). This is also a great way to try something new, and make friends along the way!

Through your course. During your course, you might people in workshops or seminars, through group projects, from sitting by each other in lectures, and more!
4.
By chance. You might meet people who are friends of friends, or at random events, when you least expect it!

Though your halls. You will meet people in your accommodation that you get on well with and you may well be similar to! Of course this is mostly down to luck, but you will still meet some great people!

Your course. You will have a similar interest with everyone on your course so you will find common interests with all of these people! Try and engage with them in lessons, and ask people if they want to go out after lectures - for a coffee, lunch or even just to the library when you have assignments!

Through events. Often the SU will put events on where you can meet new people and make friends this way! It is always worth going and having a look!

On social media. There are often groups on here where you can meet similar people and make some new friends so it is worth joining some!
