Not exactly predictions but key themes which haven't been covered. Like I feel like creation and parenthood are pretty big in both texts.

It's honestly just me writing up all the previous years qs which is on the website anyways. But for key themes which haven't come up I thought

Storytelling

Science (Idk obviously not science but a variation)

Religion

Creation

Parenthood

hope that helps!

becausue its with other texts do they come under like never let me go and war of worlds as it has to fit both those two doesn't it?

I do NLMG and there is literally no religion in the novel, I feel if it came up as a question it would have to be a bit more open eg belief or faith.

what could you say for storytellimg and hope

Reply 9

Definitely storytelling, I think hope may be a bit vague but its certainly more possible than religion.

Do you think violence will come up, or is that too similar to last years question on 'threats to society'?

i have never read "never let me go" so i am unsure on what themes it involves, could you list a few broad themes so i can get an idea of what would and wouldn't come up?

The main focus of the novel is clones who are bred for their vital organs for the rest of society to use. I would say some of the central themes are ambition, marginalisation, outsiders, scientific progression, ethics and relationships. I think an AO2 question is likely as the examining board is bound to run out of themes perhaps symbolism/narrative structure/narrative point of view?

yeah, both those texts and hmt&frk are both in question (i think) 7 - under science and society - they should align sure (but in the past sometimes questions have been a bit crueller/ less inclusive with WoTW in mind (see the 2022 examiners report) so just make sure u have points which are very adaptable)

Some science and society potential essay topics that cover a lot: education, family, friendship, religion, violence, settings, hope, identity, fear, gender, rebellion, morality

Yeah I honestly didn't think of this, that helps narrow things down a bit.

Yeah totally, violence and threats to soc aren't that similar imo. They have made questions really similar to previous years before 🤦*♀️
