I believe decolonisation will be on the paper somewhere, if not the extracts then at least an essay question

Agreed, they haven't tested it on extracts in a while. Maybe something on individuals during 1890-1914?

I was looking through the extracts from past papers, common trend is that it alternates from year 12 to year 13, so this year should in theory be year 12 content

You're right, never noticed that - wondering what the theme could be this year. I'm thinking something on India possibly?

Yeah neither, India was last year i think ? Something about withdrawal from 1914-1947, then again Africa has come up quite a lot in the extracts

Could be India based on the AS content? Someone said something on mandates/Middle East could come up. Not sure if West/East Africa or maybe international threats? Honestly, it's quite difficult to predict the questions but possibly can be based on the indigenous people or strategic/imperialism themes

Yeah i could see the mandates coming up, seems like they havent tested much of that period. International threats would be beautiful. Agreed though its so hard to predict, seems like they just pick randomly at this point

Finally someone else with empire as a topic 😂
I feel like decolonisation/cultural attitudes/middle east, may come up this year, but history is hard to accurately predict imo

30 marker - relation between Britian and India from 1914 to 1948
25 marker - to what extent did Britian expand into Egypt and Sudan to protect the Suez Canal
25 marker - The empire and commonwealth was economically important to Britain in years 1947 to1967
25 marker - Britain expanded into Southern Africa due to economic motives - can’t remember the time period but it’s the year 12/as content

I'm thinking definitely decolonisation, probably in the extract and potentially focussed on Asia as that hasn't come up since 2017, and 1947-67 is the only period they haven't tested more than once in extracts. For essays maybe colonial administrators as only came up once in 2019, maybe like continuity in 1914-47 or role in decol. Wild one but maybe a Q specifically on Rhodes, like they did for Chamberlain in 2018 as he's a huge part of first year empire. Honestly history very very hard to predict so anything could come up. I doubt trade and commerce will come up as has past 3 years.
