feeling of bugs crawling under my skin/never feeling clean

had something similar before once, but it was a long time ago. could it be due to stopping medications, like a withdrawal, even if i was only on them for about a month? i just feel dirty and disgusting in general, no matter what i do, regardless of how many showers/baths i take, or how much i scrub my body clean, i still feel filthy, like my internal organs are rotting from the inside out and decaying, especially when i eat anything

Dude none of us are qualified medical professionals. Ring up your GP, you need to ask a medical professional. It might be psychological it could be physical but without knowing what to ask for it's impossible to say.

The Wiki entry for this is interesting.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Formication

Benzodiazipene withdrawal is one of many possible causes of formication (feeling like insects are crawling on or under the skin when there aren't any insects).

Alcohol withdrawal is another possible cause of formication.

People on here have such a skewed, idealistic view of how much GPs actually care/are willing to help you lmao

yeah, it's weird.. it's all a waste of time anyway. doctors, pills, everything. i mean, it only makes things worse in the end

Dude I'm disabled, I agree most of them are useless. My point was if you go in with a very specific question, i.e you have crawling under your skin is this a withdrawal or something you should worry about you will get your answer. A much more informed one than anyone on the internet will give you. Otherwise you will either be at the behest of misinformation or fearmongering. Have you ever tried googling symptoms or speaking to people on the internet? Every 4th response will tell you your going to have cancer.

I didn't mean to be blunt in my original response, I just don't think questions like these are always great to ask on forums and such. As I have mentioned it either usually leads to downplaying or fearmongering. There's hundreds of different causes for hundreds of different symptoms and without someone experienced with you going through other questions like "do you also have X", "how long has this been happening" etc, you can't get a good idea. As I said it could be psychological or a physical thing.

I'm not bigging up GPs. I once went to one for a similar thing and only got checked for a concussion before I was sent on my merry way. My point was just that you deserve to have a response from a medical professional and a lot of these things can be done with a phone call. Although will probably be harder if you're with a busy surgery. I do sympathise dude, as I said I'm disabled. I'm just not sure insinuating doctors and pills make everything worse and conditions can be deduced by the internet is a great thing when a lot of people on here are secondary school age.

am i not allowed to share my experiences? because that was my experience with doctors and pills. after years of “treatment,” things are worse than they were to start with, i’m literally a ******* wreck
