my professor wants the link to my survey and my dataset for my dissertation, why?

hi guys, i am a third year student and submitted my diss earlier on this week. today my prof emailed me asking for my diss data in the format of a link to my survey and my raw dataset. i have NOT fabricated any data but i am a huge overthinker and i just am wondering why she would ask for that? i was never told that i could be asked to provide my dataset so i am a bit anxious and i am worried if i have done something wrong, if i have could this affect my degree? has anyone else had this? my results were quite unexpected in respect to the literature so maybe thats why and she wants to double check my analysis etc, i have no idea. thanks for any help!!

Hi there,

Don't worry! It's completely normal and actually good practice for professors to request datasets. This is a way to verify data analysis and ensure research integrity. The fact that your results were unexpected makes it even more valuable for your professor to review the raw data - it could lead to interesting academic insights!

If you haven't fabricated anything, you have absolutely nothing to worry about. Your professor is simply being thorough in their academic supervision. Take it as a sign that your work is being given proper attention and consideration.

Let me know if you have any questions,
