Hey anyone remember what answers they got for m1 and m2?
For m1 I got:
1) acceleration as 1.1 ms-2
2) I think about the block down the plane I got for a) 3.13 m and for b) 6.25 m
3) a) I got 1/3<e<1
And 4) I got e = 4/5 and for b) I found speed of P to be sqr2 u so it doesn't collide with A again
And for m2:
1c)I got the angle as 47 degrees
2) I got t = 4 for a and for b) I got v = 9/4 or 15/4 ( I think) and for c) I got 1.5 m
3) I got k = 4pi + 15 /8+ pi (I think)
4) for the circular motion Q I got tan =8/3 I think (8 was definitely in the answer)
Any rember what they got?

i did M1, i got all of those except for q4 the speed after the collision of A was 0 so it would not collide with the wall again and the range of values of e was 1/3 < e less than or equal to 1. Also some u missed out, U = 12.5. magnitude of frictional force was 2mg/5. Magnitude of impulse was 9mu/8. If anyone did FS1 lmk i wanna compare answers on that too.

I got it that P did collide again with the wall.
Everything else sounds right except for the circular motion question where I got tan= 3/8. I initially got 8/3 but realised I had resolved incorrectly

hi does anyone rmb how many marks the acceleration question was? I ****ed up and got 0.7 - stupid mistake. but yea thank god someone got 0 for question 4 as well. I was so scared about that answer

hi I did fs1, I know the exam was about 2 hours ago but lowk forgot all the questions already, if u remind me I can lyk what I got

4.68 = expected points is the one i wanted to check.. all the others were common sense pretty much

yea a few people in my class got 0 for that q so we’re good

wait I got 0.7 aswell. why are we wrong?

Yh that's right, got that asw. I honestly think FS1 and FM1 were so much nicer than expected considering the travesty than unfolded in Core Pure

yeah it was 4 marks I believe, the acceleration was 1.1 ms^-2

would u agree that the core pure was harder than 2024 but the fs1 and m1 was easier

Yeah sorry I forgot the rest, I got the same as you apart from the last Q with that P doesn't collide again, you had to do the initial - final ke for both P and Q separately, then total ke lost and initial ke in total and final ke in total and you get a simutatious equation and solve for the final v of p which I and someone else I know got sqrt 2 u

no you didnt, it said the KE after the collision was mu^2, not that the change in KE was that

Needed to consider mgsin theta down the slow too

Oh no, do you think ill drop 2 marks?

It's possible but maybe you'll get method marks for it, it's hard to say until we have the paper next year

yes it ke after was mu^2 but in order to find the velocity for p after you needed to get an equation to prove it - I've just redone the question from memory and I keep getting zero (for the final v of P) so it's possible I messed up my algebra for the last part . I've got my workings out if you want to see.
